Pains. pain in the gums. Uncontrolled water everywhere
All I can say is that you closed the floss in your mouth before turning it on. I didn't and managed to flood the wall and flat surface in my very small bathroom with water and hit myself in the eye with water strong enough to blow my contact lenses out of my eye. (I still can't find that lens.) I finished trying out the floss while standing in the bathroom fully dressed and with the shower curtain closed. My gums felt like a very angry dentist had punched me in the mouth over and over again. At least the floss was a nice color.
