Publicly announce here from 10/2017. The Brother software and drivers for this product appear to be out of date and have some pretty serious incompatibility issues related to the wireless networking features with Windows 10. The most common errors I've encountered are the device not detecting the network computer in question /could connect. inconsistent deletion of scan jobs or getting stuck in the middle of a job when merging or sending. If you plan to physically connect this device to your computer via USB, you will probably find it much easier to initialize this device and get it working properly. However, with enough determination and setting up the network, router and computer, I was finally able to get this device to work reliably and wirelessly, and now I'm finally very happy with the product as a whole. However, I can't give it 5 stars given the sheer amount of network/router and computer debugging and work required to get wireless networking features to work reliably with Windows 10+. [Also a great tip that will probably help people a lot, configure the device to boot with a STATIC connection to always keep the same local IP and don't set the DHCP boot to default. If for some reason you reboot your router or temporarily disconnect your Brother machine from the internet and it reboots via DHCP and is assigned a different IP address than what your computer is looking for, it will not be able to connect and im WiFi doesn't work properly on the network, so you need to statically boot it and then install the printers/drivers on your computer with that specific IP address to ensure lasting reliability. other negative reviews who complained that the wireless network function was not working and who ended up returning the device. This was disappointing as I have been a loyal Brother customer for a long time, but my experiences with this product and another of their MFC printers and its software/drivers may encourage me to try similar products from other brands in the future. .
