Review on πŸ–¨οΈ Gizmo Dorks Carbon Fiber Fill Filament 1.75mm 200g: Premium Quality for Flawless 3D Printing by John Jones

Revainrating 5 out of 5

what is this thing Great resolution, everything else bad

The stuff looks great. The print is matt, very good dimensional tolerances. Prints well from 230c to 255c. The price of this material is overpriced by 2 times. I don't think it's ABS. Does not react at all to acetone. does not weld, does not evaporate, whitens with acetone - like PLA. but it's not PLA because it requires temperatures above 220 to slip through the die. This material has the worst self-lamination of any material I've ever used. Snapping a print layer by layer onto a layer seems easy. Regardless of temperature, cooling or printing speed. The layers stack well but never stick together, but they are NOT laminated to traditional standards. I've had plaids that adhered better to the perforated tear line than this plastic did to itself, even on the top edges of the ABS print. Mechanical parts must not be used with this material. You will get better performance from raw ABS or PLA. Tested on MK2, Creality CR10 and homemade RepRap, all equipped with metal hot ends. This stuff should be avoided by anyone who wants to create working prototype objects.

Pros
  • Filament diameter 1.75 mm (measurement accuracy +/- 0.03 mm)
Cons
  • Discontinued
