This is the fourth external hard drive I have bought in the last two years. This is by far the best of them all. It's very easy to use. I plugged it in and it was ready to use. It was very quiet when copying files. I bought this external drive because I work from home and needed to transfer photos from 40 CDs to my computer for our digital library. Two of my hard drives stopped working after copying three hard drives. I bought a new drive and it copied the files but was slow and noisy. I saw this CD and decided to try it. It copied files quickly and quietly compared to my other drives. The only thing to note is that the cable connecting the drive to the computer is short. The shorter cable doesn't change my score. This is a great ride. It's just something to be aware of. I have two laptops. I was concerned that this drive would not work with my 6 year old Dell laptop but had no problems with it. It also worked great with my new Lenovo laptop. I am very happy with this eternal CD/DVD drive. You can't go wrong with this CD. It costs money.
