Review on ๐Ÿ”ง Enhanced Sinister Diesel 6.0L Oil Filter & Coolant Filtration System for FORD POWERSTROKE 2003-2007 - Effortless Installation, No Drilling or Part Removal Needed - Complete with All Hardware by Jon Larjin

Revainrating 1 out of 5

EDIT: I WAS SO WRONG TO INSTALL IT.

When I first bought this product, the parts came in a very poorly packed box that was half open. When I took the parts out of the box they were wrapped in bubble wrap very poorly and the exposed portions of the billet aluminum were dented and the threads on the oil filter cover were damaged. It took weeks for Sinister to respond with a replacement. That should be an omen I've been paying attention to. Now, almost a year after installing it, I have this review: DO NOT BUY THIS POORLY DESIGNED HUM. The coolant filter has been leaking since day one. No force to tighten the filter will stop the leak. There aren't many leaks so I just sorted it out. The BIGGEST problem is that the oil filter has already been unscrewed twice and at least 20 liters has been pumped out on both occasions. As you all know, this oil costs around $180 (Rotella T6). The problem occurred with two different Amsoil filters (of the same model). I will say that after the first incident I contacted both Sinister and Amsoil. AMSOIL sent a replacement filter free of charge (Thanks Amsoil!). Sinister reluctantly agreed to send a new filter pack after several emails, phone calls and photos, marking the filter with a pen to see how much it moved etc. Sinister never sent a new filter pack and at this point I will don't waste your time worrying about it or arguing with them. This junk is coming off my truck this weekend. Towing will cost me about $200, and new oil again. The only thing that would make me happy right now is a full refund on the product, oil loss and two towing bills, and a promise to replace my injectors if they fail due to two low oil pressure incidents. If you listen to Sinister, it costs around $900. Otherwise it stays with this rating. EDIT: So tonight I removed the oil filter plate from my truck and figured out what was causing the problem. No amount of tightening of the filter would solve this problem. The rod that the filter is screwed onto has completely detached itself from the epoxy - yes, epoxy - that was holding it in place. There was a rod, not a filter, that was loose. I may have discovered this after a few oil changes, but it was very obvious once I had the assembly completely removed. See photos.
