I'm not sure how hard work can be defined with a brush like this but they definitely have stiff bristles and are good for cleaning welds and Removing rust and oxidation from metal. I also used one of these to remove heavy grease from an old engine block before moving on to the finer wire brush. These brushes can remove paint, but the bristles are a bit stiff and will scratch the underlying surface. The handles are made of high quality plastic and aren't super heat resistant, but they are durable and should withstand medium to heavy use. The handles are angled with cutouts for a better grip and most of the time I like them as much as traditional wooden handles. There is a hole in the handle for easy hanging. Overall pretty good steel bristle brushes. They will last a while depending on use and are a good first step in removing dirt and rust when cleaning or preparing a surface for restoration.
