I'm not sure what's changed since all the reviews were written about "easy to install" and now, but in over 20 years of professional carpentry and custom joinery I've never come across a range of hardware who do so would have been treated worse than this. The rear mount holes were a full 1/4" from the front crank mounts! For you metric folks, that's about 8mm. I had to re-drill the buttplate holes and redo the recesses for the bolt heads. And one other useful info not provided is that the pin itself is about 1" in diameter. This is a very large bulky handle for a standard 32" door. It will do the job and at least fit the guide set, but I would NEVER use this unit in a client's home. And as a starting point my work has been written and reviewed in Architectural Digest 5 times in the last 10 years. If you have a very large door to scale the chunky size of this unit and If you have a professional to do the installation, go for it, otherwise buy a kit that comes with at least instructions and a template.
