Won't stick

I was so excited about this product to use with my new backsplash. The problem is that it doesn't stick. The backing is very sticky, but no matter what surface it is on, it won't stick to my surface. I have provided pictures. I have tried some on a painted backsplash and some on the tile itself. An hour later I start to hear the pieces falling onto my counter. Very frustrating. I do not recommend. I wasted my money. Luckily my apron looks good without the extra trim.
