I bought four of these PIR recording cartridges for our escape room retreat and they were exactly what we needed with a few issues resolved. When I first tried loading different sound files, nothing seemed to play except the first sound. Since it was a zombie moan, it got pretty annoying. However, when I saw the pre-existing files on the second player, I realized that this was user error. The files must be named "1", "2" etc. without any further identifier. The second problem I encountered is the USB port on a player. My computer did not recognize the sound box. I took the cable bundled with the first one (which had no problems) and it worked. If I had only bought one, I would have thought it was a bad device. I'm not sure if a USB phone cord will work, but I suspect it will. The third problem I encountered was the volume. It's still fairly loud at lower settings and therefore tinny. To solve this problem, I lowered the volume of my files using the free software Audacity. I was able to hide a file in my zombie's shirt, leaving a small space for the sensor without sacrificing functionality. Overall, this product performed extremely well for our event and I will be a regular customer. that a USB cable would work for the phone, but I suspect it will.
