Review on πŸ₯„ All-Clad 5-Piece Stainless Steel Measuring Cup Set, Silver by Julie Beaird

These things can beat a small animal to death

I paid full price for these measuring cups so my review may or may not be picky. Paper wrapped around each mug to protect the finish. These are very beautiful and durable. i like the weight All mugs are nicely folded with handles together or in a checkerboard pattern and are easy to separate from each other. All mugs, including the 1/4 cup, stand flat on the countertop when empty so you don't have to worry about them tipping over. The 1/4 cup has a mark halfway down the inside that reads 1/8 cup. 1 cup has markings inside showing 1/4, 1/2 and 3/4 cup. The rest have no internal markings. The handles are attached with two large rivets and appear to be very strong and secure. The 1/4 cup handle seemed a little short to me. I wish it was maybe 3/4 to 1 inch longer, but maybe that's why it doesn't tip over when empty. According to the packaging, it is 18/10 stainless steel. I hand washed them and put them away. No rust problems. like some other reviews that are a few years old. I'm disappointed that they are made in China while All-Clad likes to advertise that all their other stuff is made in the USA. Maybe that's why they don't even list these cups on their website. Some people have asked if they can be used on the stovetop to melt butter or something similar. Although they look like small saucepans, the metal is compared to a real cooking pot still quite flimsy. I have a "warming" section on my stovetop that I would probably put to the test of 1 cup size, but I'm not sure about others. I am very happy with them.If anything changes after long time use I will update my review and describe any problems but at almost 10 ti considering the price of a cheap set from Walmart I don't expect any problems. Small update: I've run them in the dishwasher (top shelf only) a few times with no problems. So far I haven't had any issues with food sticking around the rivets on the inside of the mug, as another reviewer recently mentioned. Two minor complaints: 1. The holes in the handles are too small to fit through the cup's prongs. a small shelf where I hang measuring cups and spoons. I had to put them in a drawer for now. 2. The cups are large and narrow compared to my old set which was wider and flatter. As such, they're harder to fill when digging for things like flour or sugar when using a fairly narrow container for your dry groceries. You'll be fine if you're scooping from a 5-gallon bucket, but otherwise you may need a spoon to fill your cup. I would deduct 1/4 star for this inconvenience if I could. 5 Year Update: It's hard to believe it's been 5 years since I bought them. I've washed them in the dishwasher countless times. No rust, cups look like new. I would like to have longer handles on small cups. Buying another set today as a wedding gift for someone who previously added me to my set.
