I was able to set up this dongle on my last TV and the sound and picture went to the TV - the picture wasn't super clear. The instructions are a bit confusing, but I managed. I have a new TV and for some reason I can't connect the dongle to my own network when my phone is connected to it. I can play all my own cellphone videos or games on the big screen, but nothing from the internet at the moment. I have noticed that it gets hot even when not in use. I'm not sure why this is, but I don't feel comfortable leaving it plugged into my TV, so I'm returning this item. I'm giving 1 star for all my frustrations with the instructions trying to get the set to work with my new TV and no luck and heat factor. So I returned the item and I do not recommend you to buy any of these as you may end up with what I just did.
