I gave this unit 4 stars because it's not the best sound quality compared to some speakers I've heard. However, this is very, very good. It has very good volume for such a small device and excellent sound quality, if not perfect. Sure the Bose and Harman Kardon are slightly better, the highs are sharper and the mids are clearer, but overall this is a very good speaker and it's half or less than these speakers, which was a great selling point for me. It's as good, if not better, than the ones I've tried at Walmart on their displays as are Sony and Altec Lansing. It projects sound into multiple rooms in my house and the volume can be very loud without distortion. Great speaker and very good price for such good quality. Sure, you can spend $150-$300 and get slightly better sound quality, but that's usually the case when you're shopping for audio gear. This little speaker is good for the low price it comes at.
