I use a lot of carving knives. Bought this set by accident. There are always problems with the eyes and nose. Built this set and played with some of my Christmas worries. As if by magic, they created an additional attraction for both the eyes and the nose, the undercut and the eyelids looked. Much better. I don't use them for hardening, but for small, fine cuts at the end. I hate to say they sat on the shelf for a while so can't comment on how spicy they were out of the box. But hit them on the belt and they were sharp enough. Clean cuts without leaving a fluffy look on the wood. Excellent purchase. I have to say that I can use them more in the roughing phase. Its worth it. Could double my selling price. the time will show
