I had already bought three of these bulbs last year and they worked great all winter. My plants have grown and actually started new plants from their own seeds when I put them outside. I figured I really needed more light for the plants so I bought these two bulbs to use this year giving me five in total. I highly recommend them. Each bulb costs about $12.50 for 12 months of electricity. I only use them from November to April. So that's less than half that amount per bulb per year. I use them with a timer so I don't have to remember to turn them off and on again.
