This filter block has outperformed all other filter blocks I have purchased and used on my aquarium. Other brands just didn't prevent the water from turning cloudy quickly with particles floating in it. This aqueon keeps the water clear longer than any other I've owned. Quiet and reliable, it's also designed not to pose a threat to fish. Some of the others I had actually pulled fish in the inlet and killed one of them. I got so annoyed about this and decided to buy a filter block that was constructed very differently. This is ideal as most of the equipment is outside of the aquarium and only the inlet and outlet pipes are inside the aquarium. The inlet pipe is designed in such a way that hardly anything can happen to the fish. The block, which is mostly outside of the aquarium, has also made it so that changing the filter and cleaning the block is much easier than those that are completely submerged in the aquarium. Less mess and less hassle. The performance and efficiency of this device is far superior to others I have had in the past. In terms of price, efficiency, features, design and ease of use, this device is superior to others. I recommend this filter unit to everyone.
