Before ordering any product from D-Link, it is advisable to call D-Link Sales at 877-453-5465. , and discuss with your sales representative what you will be installing and whether any D-Link components you will be purchasing will work together. Believe it or not, they can't. I learned it the hard way. I also found that D-Link tech support doesn't seem to be aware of compatibility factors either, which could explain their inability to resolve so many customer-reported issues. Compatibility knowledge from sales! My problem? This USB stick will not work with the D-Link DWL-G800AP 802.11g Wireless Range Extender (which I installed near my router's signal range to boost my network signal and extend my network's range). At one point I noticed that the product description and packaging itself says which product works with which other product, but all product designations are in nomenclature such as DWL-2000AP, DWL-2100AP, DWL-G120, DWL-G132, DWL-G650X etc I found it confusing at first. As an average consumer, I just assumed that the company would create products that would work with all of their networking products, but many companies just don't do wireless. My guess is that they develop and redesign products for different markets, and then quickly develop new updated products as IEEE standards evolve even faster - hence G20, G22, etc. Bottom line? Dlink is good quality hardware, but to set up ANY wireless system, no matter what you buy, you need more than just plug and play.
