Review on ASUS ProArt Display PA248QV: WUXGA 24.1" | 1920X1200 | 75Hz | Height, Swivel, Tilt Adjustments by Stephen Green

Revainrating 4 out of 5

It could just be my device, when I opened the box it smelled awful!

My left side is a $400 Alienware AW2521HF monitor. My right side is a $200 Asus PA248QV monitor. ^ When I received the monitor I was surprised that the box was much smaller than my Alienware box. Then I received my camera and unpacked it. Person. I don't know what happened, the smell I smell wasn't a factory smell, it was like a weird stench, even a day later it still smells bad. The rest of the monitor itself is normal. Also, when booting up, the monitor turns blue instead of black, which I found really annoying due to the OCD triggering. = I don't know much about color calibration so I get it right out of the box as they say color but this Asus monitor looks good enough. Only with my eyesight can I immediately distinguish them from each other in a nature video. This monitor has more white and yellowish colors, but these can only be "pre-calibrated" colors. Yes, I mean my $400 and $200 monitor make a noticeable difference when compared side by side. All in all if only I had this monitor the quality would look great. = Also on the camera and what we see with our eyes are two different things. So if you like the color associated with this monitor, I recommend tweaking the colors on this monitor a bit or just looking elsewhere. Other than that, I like this monitor best for its price.=tbh, the colors are acceptable for everyday use like social media work, but I wouldn't recommend if you use bright, work-related colors.
