Review on Tekonsha T-One T-Connector Harness: 4-Way Flat for Toyota Pickup & Tacoma by Zachary Cha

Perfect for my 2003 Tacoma 2.7L 4X4 SR5 Extended Cab. Worked great for about 1.5 years then suddenly caught fire and in the field the terminal strip melted. see fig. When a short circuit occurred in the terminal, the fuses for the dashboard, navigation lights and taillights blew. I wasn't wearing a belt then either. I installed the terminal block as instructed, making sure the wires didn't fray anywhere on the truck chassis. I've been working with aircraft wiring for almost 3 decades, so I know how to wire so there won't be any problems in the future. This error was simply due to poor component design at the manufacturer level. I was pulled over by police for missing taillights on my way to work at 3:30am and while I was discussing the issue with an officer smoke was rising from my taillight area. I missed a day of work and it was very difficult for me to get back to my truck to fix it. I would not recommend this product, instead I would recommend paying a premium and getting a trailer hitch from Toyota.
