Firstly I am far from a professional welder. Now that I've never been paid for welding before, that pretty much guarantees I'm not a professional welder, but I like to pretend I am a professional welder. I have a small 140 amp Lincoln MIG welder that I've been playing around with in the garage and recently the auto-darkening helmet I bought from Harbor Freight a few years ago started to fail. It would have been a lot darker than it should have been, to the point where I could barely see, and fiddling with dials didn't help. While I like to pretend I'm a welder, I didn't want to pretend so much that I had to buy a $400 Miller helmet with sharks and naked women spray-painted on the sides. After researching what Revain has to offer, I settled on this device. I like that it has a large viewing area (my old one was the size of a matchbox). It is light and sits well on the head. It has darkness, delay, and sensitivity controls, and they all seem to work well. Since I got the helmet I've spent about 3 hours welding it up and it's a huge improvement over my old one. It comes with a spare clear lid which is a nice touch. I seem to recall that another reviewer said it also came with a bag, but mine didn't have one, other than the plastic bag it was packaged in during shipping. For me the perfect welding helmet - automatic darkening, large field of vision and low price. I'm not sure how durable it is, but considering how little I weld, I expect it to last a few years. If welding puts food on your table, you probably have differing opinions, but for someone like me who just tinkers in the garage, I think it's a great thing. So far it's very impressive.
