I saw a similar device at a friend's and thought it might be worth a try. I have two dogs. The person is very excited and barks loudly when someone knocks on the door. Another barks when hearing conversations at a neighbor's house. The words "don't bark" and then a quick press of the button seem to get their attention and stop barking, although "knocking on the door" is slightly more effective for the barker. I know from their reactions and the twitching of their ears that they hear a sound. It's been a few weeks and now sometimes just using the Don't Bark command without using the device is enough. We will continue to work with it and look forward to further improvements. My kids say they hear the high pitched sound too. It may not be a very pleasant sound, but I know it will not harm my children or my dogs. Unfortunately, it hasn't helped that my babies bark! ;-)
