This is my second replacement Reese clutch. I have a 2003 Chevrolet so the merchandise has been around for a long time. The one I had was old and rusty so I bought a new one. I don't know if you can use stainless steel and keep it strong enough but then it will last forever. On my previous truck I had a clutch from another company and it took about 2 years before the shaft seized. The one I bought in 2003 still works, it just looks ugly.
