You can make it work, but first you need to know a few things...

Context matters to the reviewer when it comes to things like tools or products that need to be assembled: I operate a privately owned car dealership that I have been running for 8 years. Auto mechanic with 15 years of experience. Hand tools and instructions are no strangers. There was a nasty surprise with a very old customer car and I had to order this tool extra to make the car manageable. While I was able to get this product to work properly for my needs, there is definitely room for improvement in its design. Weaknesses: 1) The drill requires a 1/2" powered drill bit. Most common light to medium and electric drills have a 3/8 drive shank. This meant I couldn't use the supplied drill bit to create the pilot hole. My existing 1/2" drill bit was proving to be worn out and dull, requiring a special trip to Home Depot and a very expensive $21 drill bit to get this tool working. Instead, something else had to be improvised. All in I was able to get this to work with everything, but a typical DIY would take a lot longer than necessary. That's the price I had to pay because I was on a very tight budget at the time. Final Word: A proper helicoil kit costs an average of $70-$90 $$ so if it wasn't for the oversized shank of the included drill bit this little tool set would be a good dunk for the price hope this helps someone here there there is no defamation of the manufacturer or seller. I only share facts and experiences. πŸ‘πŸ˜Ž πŸ”§
