One of the best purchases I've made in a long time! I have many plants including orchids and bonsai. Recently a squirrel thought my plant shelves were great for climbing and knocked some pots on the floor and broke them. When I went shopping for new pots, I was dismayed to find that the selection available in stores had drastically dwindled since my last search. When I found good pots of the right size, they were mostly indoor pots without a drainage hole. Most plants need to stay outdoors for most of the year, so drainage is essential. Then I visited a shop where they offered to put a hole in every pot they bought. At this point I had bought 3 small pots with no holes thinking I would use them as display pots so I was excited to find out there is a tool that can make a hole in earthenware or earthenware without the to destroy soil. (This was the result of trying other tools and/or drill bits in the past.) I immediately looked for this type of drill bit and ended up ordering this set. As soon as they arrived I tried drilling a hole in 2 of the 3 pots. It took a while but now I have 2 new pots to put outside! I will paint the exposed pottery around the hole and seal with a Thompson water seal. I am very happy that I now have the opportunity to put drainage in every pot.
