This matching steamer insert can be used for both saucepans and pressure cookers to a limited extent. I use mine with an 8 liter electric pressure cooker and bent the metal handles up slightly so they don't scratch the sides of the pressure cooker. Excellent mesh quality as below, fine enough for vegetables, meat, rice or seafood. The 3/4" protruding legs allow the basket to be placed directly on the stovetop, on a stand or on a mat in the pressure cooker. Potential buyers should be advised that this is a rather small basket. The 8" diameter is measured from the top of the basket which is only 7 1/4" inside. The bottom diameter of the basket is only 6 1/2" and the overall height of the basket is 3 3/4". The metal grille is quite heavy and this basket is fine for rinsing or steaming veggies or shellfish, but because of its size I find it less suitable for an electric pressure cooker unless you have a smaller pressure cooker.
