I think the transponder key protection from supplier to supplier is made by the same manufacturer or the all suppliers copied the same faulty one Design. This transponder key protector ignores detachable key blade use/operation as well as key blade detachment under the Acura compass logo. If you're ok without access to the key blade/features, give the product 5 stars (pretty quirky). Despite this, the silicone protector seems to offer sufficient protection. I originally considered returning the product, but instead decided to make changes to match the Acura transponder's usefulness. Using an exacto blade and masking tape, I made notches so there were separation points between the key blade and the transponder. Then I made an incision in the release area of the key blade. I was also able to use double-sided tape to stick the key head onto the key blade. For all intensive purposes, the modification worked, however, the transponder protection manufacturer had to catch the inconsistencies. If the seller/manufacturer decides to rectify the discrepancies, please seal the original opening.
