I have had my Edge 500 for 3 years now and have ridden about 10,000 miles on this unit. I rarely drive without it - only if I forget to charge it for more than a week and my battery dies. It has many useful features and some (to me) completely useless features, such as: B. a virtual partner. I often download TCX files created with Ride With GPS.com and use Garmin to navigate. It's a little tricky because 500 shows the route but not overlaid on the map - you have to calculate curves from the curves and corners of the route - but with a little practice it's very doable. I think this device is sufficient for my purposes and I am grateful for the very small size of the device compared to more full-fledged and more expensive models. I always have a smartphone with a map with me when I need to look at the map. Recently my Edge was losing satellite connection frequently and I sent it back to Garmin. They billed me as it was out of warranty but a replacement was on its way very quickly. Overall, I am very satisfied with the Garmin device and the after-sales service.
