This is an amazing monitor, let me start with that. If, like me, you've run into big problems when trying to find a reliable, high-quality, mid-range 144Hz gaming monitor, this is the monitor for you! I looked at ASUS models like the VG248QE but the 24 inch monitor flickered which is incredibly outdated and the new 27 inch monitor was too big for my needs and the 1080 on the 27 inch monitor is a bit grainy. The Acer GN246HL had questionable reviews due to quality control. This left me choosing between the ViewSonic XG2402, the AOC G2460PF, and the more expensive Acer Predator XB241H with G-Sync. There were many others who only had a few reviews which put me off so I hope to leave this review to help reinforce its reputation as a great monitor. Acer didn't have good quality controls. And AOC had terrible color quality. The XG2402 seemed like the perfect mid-range solution. Not too expensive, but not exactly cheap to cut corners either. This monitor runs amazingly well at 144Hz, has a lot of great settings and still looks great with a little calibration despite being a TN panel. Keep in mind that this is still a TN panel so viewing angles are limited and colors aren't as vivid as IPS. But for $250 you get great value. The screen is easy to set up and has HDMI and Displayport, I suggest DisplayPort. I've only had it a few days, but I'm amazed at the jump from 60hz to 144hz. I've gone up a whole league in Rocket League because you can play so much better. As long as it lasts and doesn't break, I think this is the best option for a monitor in this price range. If you're willing to spend about $100 more, you can get G-Sync and/or 1440p.
