Nice composite magnet for cows or science class.
These composite ferrite cow magnets are strongest on the sides. (Silver AlNiCo cow magnets are strongest at the rounded ends.) They are designed so that the north poles of each segment of the black magnets are pushed together and the south poles are pushed together so that when the ends are ripped off the magnets will fly apart. (Like poles repel; north attracts south.) This pushes the field out to the sides on four sets of silver spacers (washers) between the magnets. If you use them on your cows, they will keep a lot of strays on their sides. If you are using this to demonstrate magnetism they are interesting as they are NOT simple two pole magnets and they stick very strongly to a steel surface. along their sides.
