This underwear is made of 40% Viscose, 25.7% Cotton, 27.7% Acrylic, 6.6% Spandex. The washing instructions state to machine wash in warm water but dry flat, do not tumble dry. The viscose-cotton blend is very soft and comfortable, not as warm as most long-wearing polyester fleece or wool sports underwear. Viscose/cotton/elastane is also significantly heavier than polyester or wool. The elastane content gives it good elasticity and a good fit on the skin. I'm 160 pounds and ordered my usual medium size. They fit me well although I don't like the very baggy neckline which lets in a lot of cold air unless I'm wearing a tight sweater over my underwear.
