I bought this so we could run two identical monitors (in different locations) using the same DisplayPort on my (November 2013) Windows 7 Professional computer. We've found that the default (and apparently only) mode of operation is "Extended Mode", which makes our two 1920 x 1080 monitors look like a logical 3840 x 1080 monitor. So this works great if that's what you want. Our PC can do that itself with two DisplayPort outputs, in this case this box is not needed. Apparently there is no switch, driver or utility to set it up to work in the "mirror mode" (two identical monitors) that we wanted. It is advertised as being able to (sort of) do this. Tripp-Lite tech support replied after 2 weeks of inactivity that it should work. I agree this should work, but it doesn't work in our fairly standard application. So until they find a way to choose the mode of operation they want, I would suggest spending your money elsewhere.
