Review on Home Basics TK30344 3-Liter Brushed Tea Kettle: Stylish and Capacious for All Your Brewing Needs by Duane Mejia

I researched several kettles before settling on this one. I was looking for style, spaciousness, loud whistle, removable lid and ease of use. I found all of these qualities in this teapot. I love the style and functionality of this kettle. Brushed stainless steel goes really well with my stainless steel appliances and my traditional decor. The capacity is large enough to meet my needs - I typically use around 2.5 liters of water for my purposes. I especially like that the spout lid stays open when the lever is pressed. This is especially important for those of us who have mild finger arthritis; No need to push/pull and hold the mechanism when pouring water. Also, the handle is ergonomically comfortable and I don't have to strain my arms when holding the kettle, even when it's full. The whistle is loud enough to hear on my second floor. A few reviewers noted that the teapot leaks at the seams. I have had a kettle since December 2012 and have not had this experience. I particularly like that it has a removable lid that is easy to fill and clean. The lid fits snugly, but is easy to remove. Most importantly, the opening is large enough to fit my size 9 hands. Other reviewers have written that steam escapes from the lid, causing the handle to get hot. I didn't have that experience; In fact, I don't even have to use an oven mitt to lift the kettle. At the time of writing this article I have not noticed any signs of discoloration, pitting or rusting.
