I am less concerned about the device range; even 5-10 feet helps. However, I am concerned about the reliability, the apparent lack of quality control, and the fees charged by the warranty department for processing a claim. I bought a spare part and it turned out to be defective; didn't understand at first; I thought it was batteries. After spending another $9 on some new batteries, I finally realized that the device likes to eat batteries. He manages to fire the lock once or twice before the batteries run out; I think I should be thankful. So, judging by the seemingly random selection from their inventory, half of the remotes they sent me appear to be defective. The good news is that it's under warranty. The bad news is that Morning Industry charges $10 to send me a replacement, and of course there's no guarantee the replacement won't be defective or cost me an extra $10 until they get it right . We're talking about a remote control device that weighs about an ounce! "The $10 fee is a flat fee for shipping and handling." This is plagiarism only, who should know that the quality of their products is low. Unacceptable. I offered to mail them the original in a postage-paid envelope; waiting for a positive answer.
