Great Flashlight -- My Second Cygo -- Minor Complaints

Overall I really like this flashlight. This is the second Cygo I have. I got this lighter one as a replacement for my Metro 550 because the battery life on the high 550 setting (which I need for my commute) was short after just a year (says 1.5 hours, right?). I'm now using the 'Medium' setting at 850 which is almost as bright as 'High' at 550 and lasts longer. And I have 850 for a particularly dark and deserted section of the track. (Also, I just use the 550 as a great household flashlight.) I'm deducting a star because Cygolite still hasn't fixed the problem with the pivot screw on the mount, which comes off very easily and sometimes just bounces off a normal ride. I don't mind that the light reverts to its default mode when I turn it off (the 550 remembers which mode I left it in). And - while this is a very small thing - I like that the brightness order when switching modes is from darkest to brightest, rather than the other way around like on the 550. It just makes more sense. While this is a common complaint, I don't find it difficult to remove a flashlight from its mount. (The first 550 I bought required a protein shake before removing it, but I replaced it). I also like the side spread beam that all Cygos have. Remember: never use full flash mode at night. It can blind drivers, pedestrians, cats, dogs and badgers. They will hate you, and rightly so. It's very dangerous.

Pros
  • Headlights and Reflectors
Cons
