Review on Efficient Screw Removal Tool: ENGINEER PZ-60 Screw Removal Pliers with Extracting Serrated Jaws by Rob Madden

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Good for basic functions without loosening screws.

I confess I'm not a professional DIYer, but I have experience with tools. I found this product to be nothing more than advertised needle nose pliers. Claims that these are screw removal pliers are misleading. Due to the serrated jaws, the pliers are thicker at the ends than some other pliers, which makes them basically unusable in tight vertical or horizontal spaces. When I tried to tighten the screw on the pocket knife clip, I couldn't get a hold of the head of the screw. In addition, the plastic grip covers had sharp burrs from the molding process and had to be trimmed in several places. In summary, these rather expensive pliers are good for basic work - gripping, turning and cutting - but not for working in tight spaces or removing small screws. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone.

Pros
  • Long tip ideal for hard-to-reach small screws up to 5.5mm
Cons
  • High price
