Review on πŸ”§ SONGMICS Stackable and Expandable Metal Shelf Organizers for Kitchen, Set of 4, Brown - UKCS06BR by Devon Leach

Laying is not safe as it is; The shelves themselves are good. The extra effort to repair is worth it (see review)

I assumed that stacking the shelves would require connecting them with screws. It's not, but I came up with a hack (see below). Their stacking means that the "big" holes on the bottom of the leg sit just above the rounded screw heads on the device below. This might work better in some situations IF the holes were really big enough to fit all the way through the round head of the screw. They don't. I found it too easy to move the shelf. My solution was to replace the screws on opposite corners (diagonally) of the bottom shelf with 2 small screws I had on hand and insert them through the large bottom holes in the top shelf and the small hole in the bottom shelf. The studs were short enough not to protrude past the edge of the shelf so they are not visible and make for a very sturdy frame. You could do all four corners but 2 did the job (and that's all I had!). I painted the tips of the screws with a black marker so they don't stand out.
