How difficult it is to screw the legs to the platform/shelves I thought. Until I realized that they went for screws that cannot be screwed in with a regular screwdriver. With only 2 arms it is difficult and possibly impossible to align the legs directly with the platform while trying to screw them in with the L shaped jig more commonly used on larger items that can stabilize. Considering it's just 2 simple screw holes, I doubt they'll hold the two pieces together. This isn't rocket science…

I assumed that stacking the shelves would require connecting them with screws. It's not, but I came up with a hack (see below). Their stacking means that the "big" holes on the bottom of the leg sit just above the rounded screw heads on the device below. This might work better in some situations IF the holes were really big enough to fit all the way through the round head of the screw. They don't. I found it too easy to move the shelf. I have to say I was delighted to receive these storage shelves. At first glance when I unpacked them they looked pretty decent. I liked that they are metal, not plastic, and the pattern and color are nice. However, when I took them out of the bags, I felt a certain roughness. Looking closer, I realized the roughness was where the paint had chipped to reveal the underlying metal. I understand a little as maybe my order was scattered during transport but every foot? As other reviewers have said, many of the holes don't line up perfectly and some don't line up at all, so you're lucky if you get 3 of the 4 screws on the shelf. But the most disappointing thing is the screws and the tool they send with them (the only one you can use unless you have your own exactly the same size because they aren't regular screws) is complete crap and will come off before you do it fully assemble the shelves.
