I have to say I was delighted to receive these storage shelves. At first glance when I unpacked them they looked pretty decent. I liked that they are metal, not plastic, and the pattern and color are nice. However, when I took them out of the bags, I felt a certain roughness. Looking closer, I realized the roughness was where the paint had chipped to reveal the underlying metal. I understand a little as maybe my order was scattered during transport but every foot? What's even more disturbing is that it kept coming off in small flakes when I tried to put it out! I was planning to use them to tidy my cupboard but with all the paint peeling off I should have washed the dishes before I even used them! If you have kids or pets you know they put everything in their mouths and I'm concerned they might get to the paint shavings before you can clean them all. I really wanted to like them as they fit my space needs, but I'm not comfortable with having granola on my dishes and possibly my food.
