Review on Black Socket Adapter Board for 8PIN NRF24L01 Wireless Module (5-Pack): Enhanced Connectivity Solution by Robert Sorrells

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Expensive, chunky but sheer power - worth it

They're twice the price of the radio they're attached to and awkward to use, but well worth it. If the single row connector was soldered to the other side they would be breadboard friendly. I can turn one. Installation is definitely difficult. They fixed an intermittent packet loss issue I had with several nano/rf24 pairs I tested with. This problem was much worse with cheap USB power supplies. I have a nano in low power mode (compared to the minimum) that sends a sequence number and a small payload, and then the three receivers count the packets received and look for the missing ones. Before that, at best, there was a 1-3% loss for several tens of thousands of packets (xmit interval 200 ms). After equipping all devices with these adapters, I did not see a single lost package. I find nRF24s to be very sensitive to noise performance.

Pros
  • Pretty packaging
Cons
  • Security
