Review on Dutton Lainson Company Goldenrod Pistol Oiler by Muharik Khalifa

A classic oil bowl that MUST last a lifetime

This oil bowl is as I remember it thirty years ago. As for the one punch I've read, I can't tell if it's made of lighter materials. It looks solid and is up to the task. if you think about it When I first tried to adjust the flexible tip, it broke where it was epoxy glued to the metal end. Now I know that adhesives, fabricating and gluing flexible metal tubing onto a smooth, epoxy-coated metal part is a bad idea. The epoxy was too brittle. What happened to low temperature soldering or soldering? Too bad a cheap way of attaching this part and poor quality bonding. piss off! I would not recommend this oiler unless you know how to solder and are willing to fix it yourself if it breaks.

Pros
  • practical item
Cons
  • so far so good
