Review on ๐Ÿ”’ Holley 12-810 Fuel Pump Safety Pressure Switch: Ensuring Optimal Fuel System Protection by Satish Greener

Revainrating 3 out of 5

What happened to Holley

I have purchased three of these switches in the last year and all three have failed immediately after purchase or within hours. At first one worked fine and shut down the pump. Now they do nothing. Very disappointed with Holley's quality having also had an issue with Holley's new red pump! Update March 2014: Apparently I used the product in the wrong app. The Revain page says it shows fuel or oil pressure, but the Holley page I just looked at says an oil pressure switch. I used this switch to turn off the electric fuel pump when the fuel pressure was over 5psi. Worked great initially but within a few hours of use or a few weeks it just stayed on and never shut off even when pressurized over 10psi. This happened on all three switches I bought. In any case, I removed them and just turned off the ignition to control the fuel pumps via external regulators. If you want to hook them up to a gas line I wouldn't recommend it. I believe Revane's wording above is incorrect. Still unhappy with Holly. The more expensive pump had a broken magnet that would sometimes jam the fuel pump when it got hot. It was fun figuring that out. The cheaper generic from Summit in Ohio, you know the Akron racetrack, was much better. Much luck!
