Review on 💡 Plugable USB 2.0 4-Port High Speed Hub: Boost Connectivity with 12.5W Power Adapter by Dave Hunt

For several months (about 18) I have been looking and researching for a hub that is reasonably priced and works for the purpose I need. I have 3 portable external hard drives and each one contains files that I need to access and there aren't many USB ports on my laptop. In fact, with anything practically requiring USB access, you'd think computers would create more USB ports, and a motherboard capable of processing said it would create more ports. My research led me to this tiny but powerful little hub. I'm just amazed how it can handle all three of my drives and not affect my laptop's performance. This means my laptop won't slow down or freeze. In fact, when my external devices are all connected, they themselves work faster and better. Two of my drives are 2.0 and one is 3.0 and I was a bit worried about my 3.0's performance issue, but it runs like clockwork. I have no lag or slow file display, nor have I had any trouble moving files from one to another. This hub can function without an AC adapter, but works best with an AC adapter plugged into an outlet. I haven't moved much and accessed it when it's not plugged in, but it's just that disk access is faster when it's plugged in. The hub itself is about 2 inches long and maybe 1 1/2 inches wide (I didn't measure officially, I just guessed by eye), and both cables (USB to connect to a computer and the one to connect to a spout ) are sufficiently long. In fact, I think the cable connecting the hub to the computer could be a bit shorter, but it's long enough that it wouldn't get in the way if I had to position it away from my PC. When I connected the hub to my computer, it automatically recognized and started all connected drives. No additional drivers required. I didn't have to manually force the PC to recognize the hub. I've only been using the hub for 4 days but I'm so thrilled with its performance that I just couldn't help but admire it as I wanted the hub to do this at a price I can afford. I will update my review when I use it longer. I really hope this lasts and works at this level for the life of the hub.
