Volvo Must-Have - Tools and Equipment

I bought a 2004 Volvo. After a few problem-free weeks, he completely freaked out. The dashboard has become the Christmas tree. Engine cut out immediately after starting. Scary warnings from old school computer screen. Thank god the internet is in my pocket. "Remove fuse 23. Remove fuse 33.โ€ As instructed, the car started again. But I couldn't read the codes the computer called out. My ODB-II reader didn't tell me anything. Volvo has many different computer systems installed. The standard OBD-II reader does not know about these proprietary codes ONLY FOR VOLVO. You must use a code reader that "speaks Volvo". This one speaks. You can read all codes from all computers. determine if there is a serious problem. Restart each computer. Clear the Check Engine display. and save yourself a ton of money by skipping the retailer for minor issues. A month ago I was driving in Washington DC in very heavy traffic. Suddenly the entire highway was closed. Hard braking on all five lanes. As I began to pick up speed, the Volvo began to kick. As if the ABS system suddenly kicked in. The brakes kicked in for half a second. What kind of ?! I walked to the curb and found a place to stop. pulled out this code reader. went through all the steps. consulted SwedeSpeed and other websites. and took care of the matter. (Perhaps this post is a word of caution when buying old Volvos, but I have to say it's a great car when it runs well. (2004 XC70, 5-cylinder turbo). So comfortable with great handling.) I know it doesn't matter how widespread it is. these computer problems. In the eight months that I've had a car, I've had two tantrums. This reader helped me both times. I don't think you can own a Volvo without it. It saved me two tows and God knows how many trips to the dealership ($250 each). If you have an old Volvo and have been thinking about buying one of these, take this as wisdom. Invest money. Learn how to use your device. Get to know the functions of your car. You get a safer car, peace of mind on the road and the joy of taking care of your car.
