The reasons for switching from incandescent bulbs to LED are really about using a lot less electricity and getting the same amount of light. The LED bulb market is still relatively new and emerging and the qualities of various LED bulbs are still in question. The vast majority are manufactured in China. No one brand has been around long enough to really dominate. The cost per bulbs is still very high compared to incandescent bulbs. It is a tough decision to make until you realize that finding the right manufacturer who sells good quality bulbs at a reasonable price will save you a lot of money over the years of using them. In some cases these LED bulbs use 90% less electricity then their equal incandescent bulbs. Multiply that savings times the number of bulbs you have in your house and it is a no brainer decision. You pay more up front to save a lot more on your electric bill through the year. I purchased these LED bulbs at a discount in return for an unbiased review. I am impressed with the specifications; see pictures of box. The design is very different than other LED’s I have seen. I was disheartened to read the other reviews as their expectations were as a designer bulb, "Edison replacement" and they are not advertised as such. The light is a bit brighter and softer on the eyes. They are dimmable and as far as I’m concerned, offer a designer look with a cost savings. They are showing the life of the bulb at 30,000 hours or three solid years of constant /continuous use. I’ll have to see if that claim holds true. So far so good, I am very impressed with this product. " 5 stars” I will recommend these to anyone making the switch. I don’t think you will be disappointed when you purchase them.
