This version of the Kurt luggage rack is brand new. And by brand new I mean design. I used to have a Transfer Kuat strut and the like - this version is much better. Improved shaft system, improved locking mechanism, even improved the way it attaches and tightens to the hitch. I bought this strut thinking it was new. It's not brand new. The layers of red dust I had to wipe off of this rack were incredibly annoying. This rack must be from the third moon of Mars because it had a lot of red mud/mud on it. The large front wheel scoop is frayed on the inside and damaged on the outer lip - see photos for yourself. I would expect a similar experience buying from this seller. do first.
