Of the less secure main locks, this one is probably the best for beginners. Manufacturing tolerances appear to be better than the infamous Master Lock #3, allowing the assembler to behave predictably. It has no security pins (standard only), which is to be expected from cheaper locks. Safety pins are usually barbed or coiled and are designed to make life difficult for installers. This practically does not matter, since thieves are lazy. They don't bother to learn how to pick locks (thankfully) and I've never heard of a thief picking a lock.
