I had to drill two 1 1/4" holes in porcelain stoneware for an anchor track in the wall next to the bathtub. A carbide drill bit will do almost nothing with this very hard tile. This diamond hole saw came with a thick material template to help guiding the saw to start the hole. That instruction said to use water and move slowly with moderate pressure and it really helped. Luckily the cutting/cooling water could just flow down the wall into the tub. (It was a two person job as I held the drill bit while my wife poured water.) Compared to the price of many other diamond drill bits this was a real steal I couldn't be happier (and I'm a tough class!)
