I am a trained bicycle mechanic and have been using the Silca SuperPista Digital for a few months. I've had Silca pumps since I started working with bikes in shops almost 50 years ago. They've all been great and this latest one is my best yet. I've tried dozens of other types of pumps over the years, maybe hundreds, and Silcas has a different level of quality in the components that make up a pump. Where others use a lot of plastic, Silca uses wood, stainless steel, leather, aluminum - only the best materials they can find for their part. Their sensors are accurate, the hoses are long enough to get anywhere the bike is like. B. a repair stand or a car carrier. And their pumps are sleek and easy to use. The SuperPista Digital features a very easy to read, highly accurate digital gauge high on top of the pump, a wide wooden handle for a comfortable grip, a heavy base so the pump never falls over, a powerful magnet that keeps the cartridge in place while pumping stops is off. Storage and a loop on the handle to keep the pump from slipping out when carried. My favorite feature is the Silca Hiro head that turns SuperPista into a superhero. Unlike most other pump heads, there is no need to depress the valves when installing the Hiro on the valves. (It's this downward pressure that bends and even breaks so many Presta valves.) Instead, the Hiro features a side lever cam that allows you to gently squeeze and lock the valves for a tight connection. This means it's almost impossible to damage or break the Presta's valving, and air flows much more easily and there are no leaks. Best of all, the Hiro will also hold onto valves that are too short (no need to find valve extenders or install new hoses), and because it's side-mounted, it takes up less vertical space above the valve. This means that if you have to pump disc wheels for triathlon or time trials, for example (there is hardly any room for pump heads in disc wheels), you will have no problem with this pump. I love the performance of the Hiro head so much I bought it to upgrade my other pumps. Overall, as a professional, I rely on professional quality tools to just do better work, easy to use every time, and get the job done year after year. Yes, the SuperPista Digital is an expensive pump, but once you get your hands on it and pump up a few tires, you'll see that you now have the best bike pumps around. Another important point: Silca stands behind its products. If you ever have a problem, they will take care of it.
