EDIT: I've had this plug for a little while now. Still going strong. Its been the perfect solution for making my holiday lights automatic.I purchased this product to use with my holiday lights.I noticed there was a lot of confusion surrounding this product. On the paper instructions (I personally see no point in these) it says "for indoor use" but on the product itself it says "for outdoor use." Just by looking at the cord and feeling the weight and construction makes me believe this product is perfectly OK with outdoor use.Like with extension cords and other electrical components used outside NOTHING is fully "weather proof." Reading the instructions online and included with the product if you are going to use this in the outdoors it is suggested to mount the box with the plugs facing downwards - which makes sense. This shouldn't be used anywhere where it could be fully submerged - same with extension cords. My outdoor electrical outlet is mounted under an overhang so I'm not concerned about the elements getting to it.So far so good. 👍🏻
