Review on πŸ₯Š MaxxMMA Striking Punching Bag Kit with Double End Design by Mark Colbert

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Decent for kids. Not recommended for adults. NOT for the gym.

Decent enough for kids but doesn't last long against an adult who likes to hit him hard every now and then. I have one set for my 12 year old nephew and one for myself. My nephew's is still holding up well, but mine fell apart completely. The kit looks good but turns out to be mostly useless and cheap stuff. IMO save your money and buy a better bag and gloves separately and make your own stand with a 5 or 3 gallon bucket. If you buy the items individually it will cost you a bit more but you will have a DE bag that will last you a really long time, not that cheap, poor quality collection of gear that will leave you wishing you had bought better gear. easy to fill with water. Sand would have been tougher, but I used a 5 gallon bucket instead. The original base bounced all over the place, even with the included low-tension elastic cords. For my nephew, his base is holding up relatively well, but it's filled with sand and placed on grass outdoors, which limits his movement more. Mine was in the basement on the concrete and slid around with every hit. The gloves are terrible. They are uncomfortable to put on and fully cover your hands with only a few tiny holes in the palm for ventilation, making your hands sweaty. The only plus is that they have a handle. Padding is minimal, but you don't need decent padding for a DE bag. However, I would advise buying cheap MMA/karate gloves rather than thinking that buying this set will save you money. Very poor quality gloves. The bungee cords are very, very loose. This is fine if you want the bag to swing all over the place to help with defense, but you can never pull it tight enough to make it suitable for speed bag and combo work. Instead, I used adjustable bungees from the hardware store. I had a high voltage kit and a low voltage kit and replaced them as needed. The adjustable bungee that comes with the kit can of course be adjusted a bit, but it's not quick or easy. It is best to buy two sets of bungee if you want to change the tension. The bag is fine for light use but mine broke after about 3 months of moderate use; about 1-2 hours a week, every week. (I usually do short 15 minute sessions to long 1 hour sessions, about 2 or 3 sessions a week). The seams parted at the front exposing the mesh covering the bladder and then the top loop was ripped open with an upward cut, resulting in the bottom of the bag. This is probably because I didn't use the weaker bungee that came with the bag, as higher tension bungee puts too much stress on the loops, which confirms what I said at the beginning: it's good for kids, isn't it if you only want a protective bag. but a grown-up will destroy this thing well before the end of the year, especially if you want to give the bag a good smack every now and then instead of treating it like Glass Jaw Joe. In general, I'm glad my nephew. enjoys his kit but mine turned out to be a total flop. I'm going to invest in a decent, genuine DE duffel, which is what I should have done in the first place. Trying to save a few bucks resulted in a pile of broken and useless junk. The only thing I want to salvage from this is a hand pump, and even the pump isn't that great.
