I have used these the way instructed in boiling water. I have no idea how to poach eggs without a tool like this. The eggs are poached and come out of the cups well if you spray them. I have trouble getting them to stay upright in the boiling water instead of flopping over. The cups are thin silicon, and they are very floppy, so carrying them to the pot with eggs already cracked into them is a little bit of a challenge.I recommend these for anyone who has no idea how to poach an egg. They make it possible, but may not deliver the perfect poached egg.
